Rebuilding your stomach's supply of hydrochloric acid and strengthening your digestive system, is the first step in healing bloating and I would go as far to say, in healing most symptoms of dis-ease.
The stomach is a sodium organ, meaning it needs organic sodium to do its job and thrive. Celery which is actually a herb, is extremely high in organic sodium.
Just to be clear in this case by organic sodium I mean that the mineral sodium is from a living, usable and bioavailable source, unlike non organic sodium from salt, which is not living and does not rebuild and regenerate the body.
WHY DO WE NEED TO JUICE THE CELERY?
WHY NOT JUST EAT IT???
If you are experiencing bloating, or another symptoms in the body, we can conclude that the stomach is not strong enough to digest properly. When you eat the celery whole, the stomach has to first break it down and THEN it can use the sodium. Breaking down means more work and more energy is used for digestion and less energy is left for repairing. Plus is the stomach even strong enough to break it down thoroughly and extract the nutrients for healing?
By juicing the celery instead you are giving your stomach all the sodium without any work, so it can use all its energy to heal and absorb nutrients. Also if you think about celery juice as the exact medicine for the stomach and the remedy is 16 ounces, imagine how much celery you would have to eat to get that volume in your belly.
IF YOU DO JUST 1 THING... DO THIS!
TRUST ME IT WORKS!!!
Drink 16 ounces or more of pure celery juice on an empty stomach DAILY, such as first thing in the morning or at least 2 hours of not eating.
The point of the juice is to strengthen your stomach, and celery is what heals it, if you mix it with other vegetable you will be diluting the potency of this healing beverage. If its too potent and you just can't handle it, start with less and gradually work your way up. If its still too hard to handle you can start with cucumber juice which is easier to handle.
Wash one head of organic celery and pass it through a juicer, for best results drink immediately on empty stomach.
Note: 1 head of celery usually yields about 16 ounces, but depending on the size of your celery it can vary.
If you don't have a juicer, another option would be to blend the celery without water, and strain it using a nut milk bag, cheesecloth or strainer.
Frequently Asked Question: Can I make the juice ahead of time?
Answer: The juice it most potent when it's consumed fresh, BUT getting the juice in your body is the most important part and if making it ahead of time means that you will actually drink it as opposed to never having
it, than make it ahead of time.
Again: Progress not perfection!!
LAST NOTE: Yes its a b*#$h to clean the juicer everyday, but the benefits totally out way all the work.
Good Luck! and Get Juicing:)
